WhiteFolio: a free template for a portfolio (but not only) elegant and creative
Since the staff of Your Inspiration Web loves to spoil his comunity with free resources released periodically and considering the big success of the two templates xhtml/css released in the course of this first year of blogging (don’t tell me that you lost YIFolio and YIMinimal!), we thought that a third template to download free could be a pleasant surprise, a good way to get over the end of vacation and restart the working period in style ……did we hit the mark?

We present to you Whitefolio, a template that develops itself on one single html page and that contains inside four different sections. To make the navigation harmonious and fluid inside the theme, a javasript has been used that allows the shift from un section to another through an animation effect: just click with the mouse on the navigation link to see the effect.
Since our users are almost all web designers the theme has been developed as a portfolio, a shop window; although the layout is easily adaptable for whatever type of site, that’s why the grapfic is very simple and essential.
But let’s see the features of this theme.
Home page
In the home page a very elegant slider in flash has been inserted, Image Rotator. It’s really easy to modufy the settings of this slider and you can choose between different animations, a classical “fade” effect for a more sober and professional effect or a “bubble” effect for something bright and flashy… all depends on what type of activity this layout has to represent.
About
The about page is subdivided in two sections: the one on the left contains a short descriptive text (you can insert some information about you or your business, a photo of yours, a curriculum or something else) and in the one on the right I intergrated the last twitter. Under these sections I inserted a graphic bar created to contain your “skills”, messages, although this section is easily modifiable with css if you like to use it for purposes different from the provided ones.
Portfolio
The portfolio page contains a very elegant photo gallery that allows the visualization of a few thumbnails on the left and the enlargement of such thumbnails on the right,with a fade effect really light and pleasant. Below the gallery, in the apposite “testimonial” space , you can insert some references of your clients, so that the visitors of your site (and potential clients) get impressed by the positve feedbacks left by the persons with which you collaborated.
Contacts
In the contact page there is an operative contact module intergrated, with an error control in Javascript on the fields “name”, “e-mail” and “message”. On the right side you can put some contact information, your social network links or other information related to your addresses.
Conclusions
In the download zip you’ll also find a complete support manual in pdf where you’ll have a step by step explanation on how to personalize and modify the different sections of the theme, from setting of the slider in the homepage to the configuration of the e-mail for a correct functioning of the contact module.
A sincere thanks goes to Maurizio for his precious help in the Javascript territory (give a bug to our Maurizio and for that bug it’s time over) and Nando for the consultation and comfort he gave me during the development of the theme ( a localhost that becomes a locahost makes you lose a lot of diopters and patience, but by force four eyes are better than two!)

The only thing I would add is some other kind of menu, maybe floating or to give some more space between these categories, becouse on bigger screen I see menus from two categories, kind a confusing…

. I am going to use it in the portfolio of my girlfriend, and I want to know how should I license it (like “CC moroni, based in WhiteFolio” or “Original CC WhiteFolio, remixed by moroni” or how), and if I should link this page or another else

I’m really grateful for your work on this template, it’s one of the most amazing templates i have ever seen.
While customizing, i tried using the contact recently and it keeps giving me this error message;Inserisci un messaggio di almeno 15 caratteri. I’m sure its Italian; please how can i rectify this as it used to work before now. Also, how do i change the notification language to English for when a message has been sent?

Thank you for this awesome temp. I am planning on downloading it and customizing it for my first site ever. I have no clue on how to code but maybe learn by trial and error.
I want to ask you one thing though. Is there a way to add files (on portfolio page) that other people can download?
Here is what I mean. On the portfolio page, you click on the small image icon on the left. On right you see the same image but bigger size. Now, is there a way to add a “download” button on bottom right? If so, when the person clicks download, it downloads a file related to that image (jpeg, pdf, word, ppt, and etc…)

Im new to this. I love your theme and I want to use it for my WP.org portfolio site. However, when I try to upload it to wp theme section, it says it is missing the style.css sheet. However, when I look in the files, i see the folder. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or if I need to edit something before I install. Please help! I’ve been searching for the perfect theme and decided to try and create a webpage the do it yourself for dummies way lol, alot of trial and error needless to say

Hi. Really nice design but I am stuck on the twitter feeds to the right of the page. I have changed YIW to my twitter username. When I preview the site I can see the first 5 tweets but it doesn’t say via and when I click the link twitter says Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!
Also the text which displays the tweet date is not English.

First of all, this is a wonderful theme. The sleekness, and minimalistic look are totally awesome.
Everything in there are working, but the contact form. Well, it sent the mail successfully. But no, i didn’t receive the mail sent. I think the problem would be on config.php, but i don’t know how to alter that. If possible, can you take a look at my website and see what’s going wrong?
